
The festive month of November remained buoyant for the Indian car market as the domestic sales grew by 10.39 per cent in November 2015 over the same period last year. The cumulative passenger vehicles comprising of cars, utility vehicles and vans grew 11.40 per cent during November 2015.
As per the data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers' or Siam, the commercial vehicles segment comprising of medium to heavy trucks and buses registered 25 per cent growth, while light commercial vehicles grew by a meagre 0.26 per cent in November 2015 over the same period last year.
Two Wheelers sales registered a marginal growth at 1.47 per cent during November 2015 over 2014. Within the two wheelers segment, scooters grew by 2.45 per cent, while motorcycles grew 1.58 per cent and mopeds dropped by 6.16 per cent last month.
The three wheelers market saw a sales growth of 8.33 per cent in November 2015 over the same period last year. The passenger carrier sales increased 13.52 per cent while goods carrier sales declined by 10.40 per cent last month.
In November overall automobile exports declined 17 per cent with the passenger vehicles posting a 8.6 per cent drop with 112 less commercial vehicles exported last month.
