
WhatsApphas revealed that it will be stopping support for a number of devices by theend of this year. Before smartphones, Nokia's Symbian was one of the mostdominating operating system in the phone market. Despite featuring on legendaryNokia devices, the operating system seems to be coming to an absolute end verysoon.
The mostpopular instant messaging application, WhatsApp has released a statementmentioning the operating systems that won't receive support from the companyafter the end of 2016. The announcement was made back in February thisyear.

TheFacebook-owned company believes that the technology needed to incorporate thelatest features and security within the app is not available on these operatingsystems. The blog post stated, "while these mobile devices have been animportant part of our story, they don't offer the kind of capabilities we needto expand our app's features in the future."

These arethe operating systems that will not have access to Whatsapp after December 31:
BlackBerryOS and BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
NokiaSymbian S60
Android 2.1and Android 2.2
WindowsPhone 7.1
iPhone3GS/iOS 6
The instantmessaging company recommended upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or WindowsPhone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.
