Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India's longest bridge on Bramhaputra river that connects North Eastern states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, locally known as the Dhola-Sadiya bridge. Officially, the bridge has been named Bhupen Hazarika bridge. This will have a large impact on economy as essentials and produce from Arunachal Pradesh can come to Assam easily and vice versa. Earlier, only ferry services were available for the transportation. The bridge will cut on travel time. It will also ensure movement of heavy battalion tanks giving impeccable strenght not only to the forces of North East but also a big boost to the Indian economy.
