Most expensive Mercedes hits the Indian market at Rs 10.5 crore
The new Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard is the most expensive car available in the Mercedes-Benz portfolio in India and has been launched within 15 days of its international debut.

Mercedes-Benz, the country's largest luxury car maker, brought its most expensive machine - the Maybach S 600 Guard - priced Rs 10.50 crore onwards (ex-showroom Delhi), targeting top-notch businessmen and state dignitaries.
The new Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard is the most expensive car available in the Mercedes-Benz portfolio in India and has been launched within 15 days of its international debut.
A regular stretched limousine, it is the first civilian vehicle to be certified with the highest ballistic protection level VR10. "Mercedes-Benz has been manufacturing 'Guard' vehicles since 1928. Extensively used to ferry global heads of states, top diplomats, business tycoons and celebrities, the 'Guard' is the safest vehicle from any carmaker. It is the world's first passenger vehicle certified with the highest ballistic protection level of VR10, in India," said Roland Folger, MD and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India at the launch in Delhi on Tuesday.
The safety guidelines in the car specify that its bodywork and windows are able to withstand hardened steel core bullets fired from an assault rifle. The vehicle also has an ERV 2010 rating (Explosive Resistant Vehicles) approved from Germany's Federal Office of Criminal Investigation.
The car also comes with latest technical innovations like Intelligent Drive system with optional features like Night View Assist Plus, LED Intelligent Light System and a 360-degree camera view from the car. Other special protective features include opaque roller blinds in the rear, heated windscreen and side windows, backup panic alarm system, automatically activated fire extinguisher system and emergency fresh air system to protect occupants from the ingress of smoke or irritant gases.
The car comes with a superior V12, 6000 cc petrol engine, generating (530 hp or 830 Nm of torque. It has a 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission that results in lower fuel consumption with impressive acceleration for a rapid escape from the danger zone when under threat.
