Shiv Nadar and family have once again topped the EdelGive-Hurun India Philanthropy List 2024, contributing an impressive ₹2,153 crore, marking the third time they’ve led the rankings in the past five years. This year’s list also includes prominent names like Mukesh Ambani, the Bajaj family, Kumar Mangalam Birla, and Gautam Adani. Notably, Mukesh Ambani secured the second position with donations of ₹407 crore, while the Bajaj family climbed to third with ₹352 crore, reflecting a 33% increase in their contributions. The report highlights a significant rise in high-value donations, with 18 Indian philanthropists donating over ₹100 crore each, up from just two in 2018. Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha stands out as the youngest philanthropist on the list, while Rohini Nilekani, contributing ₹154 crore, leads as the most generous woman philanthropist in India.
