The removal of indexation benefits on capital gains from the sale of real estate has created considerable controversy around the budget. WhatsApp groups around the country are flooded with news and views of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s announcement in her Budget 2024-25 speech. Business Today TV Managing Editor Siddharth Zarabi spoke to Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra after the budget and was told that the benefit of indexation continues till 2001.
