In a candid interview with India Today Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu discussed the alarming rise in bomb hoax threats affecting over 170 flights operated by Indian carriers. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the anonymity of online communications, noting that many threats can be masked through VPNs, complicating efforts to trace their origins. Naidu reassured the public that intelligence agencies are actively investigating the matter and are working to capture those responsible. He pointed out that despite the threats, air travel remains safe, with approximately 32,000 flights operating over the past eight days. The minister stressed that safety and security protocols are paramount, and the government is adapting its strategies to minimize disruptions while ensuring passenger safety. Naidu reiterated the government's dedication to addressing these threats seriously and maintaining the integrity of air travel, reflecting a proactive stance in the face of evolving security challenges.
