First ‘Made In India’ Chip By Dec 2024, Says Minister Of IT & Railways

The 2.75 billion dollar Micron Tech plant will produce its first semi-conductor chip in 18 months. The plant, announced during the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US, will be situated in Gujarat’s Sanand industrial area. Meanwhile, the IT, Electronics and Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also made it clear that the Vedanta-Foxconn JV will have to apply for a chip-making.
