Despite these challenges, the Mate XT received an astonishing 6.5 million bookings, reflecting strong consumer interest, fueled partly by patriotic sentiments. Customers express their desire to support Huawei, especially given the brand's resilience in overcoming past export controls that had hindered its smartphone business. Reports indicate that the Mate XT is even commanding exorbitant prices in the black market, reaching over $21,000 in some cases. Huawei is also considering launching the phone in international markets in the first quarter of next year, marking a significant comeback for the brand.
