A historic day for the Indian space industry. India's first privately developed rocket, Vikram-S, is launched successfully by ISRO from Sriharikota's Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The rocket, developed by Skyroot, was launched with three customer payloads into space touching an altitude of over 90 kilometers and gaining a speed of Mach 5, five times the speed of sound. The successful launch of Vikram S marks the entry of the private sector into the Indian space program, which has so far, remained government-controlled and funded.
