Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has taken on the NDA government in Rajya Sabha, raising concerns over the dilution of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Calling it a lifeline for millions of rural poor, she accused the BJP-led government of systematically weakening the scheme. The Congress leader outlined five key demands, including higher wages, more workdays, increased outlays and timely payments to protect rural workers' rights.
