Speaking to Business Today Television, Managing Director of the UK-India Business Council, Kevin McCole, said there is a strong political will and desire from both countries to seal the deal in the near future. Kevin said that both governments are set to meet in December to conduct their final discussions and are hopeful it will yield good results. India and Britain launched negotiations for the FTA in January with the aim of concluding talks by Diwali (October 24), but the deadline was missed due to political developments in the UK. There are 26 chapters in the agreement, which include goods, services, investments, and intellectual property rights.
