He started a bachelor's degree in commerce at Gujarat University, but dropped out after the second year.

Oravel was designed as a platform for booking budget and premium accommodation. He then received its share of fundings and accolades and later he rebranded it to OYO Rooms. It currently operates in more than 200 Indian cities and in Malaysia.
