Honda on Thursday announced its entry into the compact SUV segment with the launch of BR-V at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh.

Its top variant VX i-DTEC will cost Rs 12.9 lakh. The Honda BR-V has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants and sports the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel mills that do duty on the City. The petrol motor has been tuned to put out 117 bhp and 145Nm of torque, while the diesel will produce 98 bhp and 200Nm of torque.

The BR-V measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,660 mm long, 10 mm longer than the Mobilio. The amazing 210 mm ground clearance will give the BR-V go-anywhere capabilities.

The BR-V will go head to head with the likes of the Creta and Duster.
