Singapore Airlines Ltd has said it is in talks with the Tata Group about a potential merger of Vistara and Air India. Vistara is a joint venture of Singapore Airlines and Tatas and its merger with Air India will give the new airline the heft to compete with the likes of IndiGo. While Air India has an 8.5% market share, Vistara has a larger 9.7% market share. The combined airline will have a fleet of 178 wide and narrow body aircraft. For more information on this, we are joined by my colleague Chetan Bhutani.
