Shraddha Walker's father, Vikas Walker, said on Tuesday that he wants the accused, Aaftab, to be hanged to death. He said that if Aaftab Poonawala could cold bloodedly chop up his daughter's body, then his punishment should be worse than a death sentence.

He was arrested on Monday from his flat in Chhatarpur after Shraddha's father Vikas lodged an FIR at the Mehrauli police station on November 8 stating that his daughter had gone missing and that the family hadn’t been in touch with her for more than two months.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Vikas said that he still had hopes that Shraddha would be traced, stating that there are discrepancies in Aaftab's confessions.

“The cops have recovered only 8-10 pieces of the body. How can he (Aaftab) declare in a day's time that he did what he did? He lied before Mumbai Police but he immediately confessed here (to Delhi Police)," Vikas said on Tuesday.

Talking about Aaftab’s punishment, Vikas said he wanted him to be hanged. "I want him to be hanged." He added that if there was a punishment worse than capital punishment, he would want that for Aaftab.

"Agar usne tukde tukde kiye hai toh uske bhi tuke tukde ho. Phaasi dijiye, usse bura ho toh who karo (If Aaftab has chopped up my daughter's body, then I want his body to be chopped too. If there is anything worse than a death sentence then award that)," Vikas said.

During his confession, Aaftab reportedly told the police that strangulating Shraddha was easy but disposing off her body parts in the forest area was tough. He said he watched Dexter, which helped him draw the plan to dispose of the dismembered body.

He reportedly told the police that as he was trained as a chef, he could cut Shraddha’s body into small pieces for easy disposal.

Police have said that after his confession, they launched several search operations around Mehrauli, where some parts, mostly bones have been recovered. They said the bones were of a human’s and had been sent for examination.

A sample of Shraddha’s father has also been taken so that the DNA profiling of the recovered bones can be done.
