Rishabh Pant accident latest: The star cricketer will have to undergo an MRI at the Max Hospital, Dehradun, to ascertain the extent of his injuries and decide on the further course of his treatment.

Rishabh Pant's car was returning from Delhi to Uttarakhand. The cricketer, also known as Spidey among his fans, has now been referred to Max Dehradun.

The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that it is in constant touch Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant's family and that its medical team is in touch with the doctors treating the star cricketer while adding the world's richest cricketing body will ensure that Pant gets the best of treatment. He will have to undergo an MRI at the Max Hospital, Dehradun, to ascertain the extent of his injuries and decide on the further course of his treatment. Pant received two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe besides suffering abrasion injuries on his back. The star cricketer fell asleep behind the wheel while driving to meet his relatives in Uttarakhand's Roorkee, Haridwar Rural SP SK Singh said. He further said that the accident took place 1 km ahead of Narsan towards Roorkee. Haridwar Rural SP told news agency ANI, "Cricketer Rishabh Pant was going to Roorkee to meet his relatives. The accident happened because he fell asleep at the wheel, 1 km ahead of Narsan towards Roorkee."

Earlier today, the cricketer reached Max Hospital, Dehradun, and is currently stable, as per Dr Ashish Yagnik. Dr Yagnik said that a detailed medical bulletin will be issued after a complete examination by a team of doctors. He added that orthopedic and plastic surgeons are on call at present. Details of Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant's Mercedes car, which went down in flames due to the dastardly accident in Roorkee, have come out. As per these details, the car was three years and three months old. Cricket veterans like ex-Team India captain Mohammed Azharuddin, Virender Sehwag, former Team India coach Anil Kumble and fast bowler Mohammed Shami prayed for Pant's speedy recovery. The cricketer will undergo plastic surgery at a hospital in Delhi after he got injured on Friday morning after his car met with an accident in Roorkee.

Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar told India Today that the cricketer's car reportedly crashed into a divider on the Narsan border of Roorkee at 5:15 am in the morning. Pant's car collided with the railing and caught fire. After this, his car burnt down and Pant came out by breaking the windscreen of the car, according to the Uttarakhand top cop. He added that Pant is likely to have fractured his leg. Pant has been hospitalised in Roorkee's Saksham Hospital. According to doctors, Pant has suffered injuries on his forehead and leg. The car was returning from Delhi to Uttarakhand. The cricketer, also known as Spidey among his fans, has now been referred to Max Dehradun.

India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has suffered two cuts on his forehead, apart from a ligament tear in his right knee, abrasion injuries on back, and hurting right wrist, ankle, and toe, said Jay Shah, the Honorary Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in an official statement on Friday.

Early on Friday morning, Pant, 25, suffered multiple injuries when his car collided with a road divider and caught fire on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. He has been admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun after being initially taken to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre. Pant was on his way to his hometown Roorkee in the state of Uttarakhand from New Delhi.

Cricketer Rishabh Pant car accident: Haridwar Rural SP Swapan Kishore told news agency ANI,  "The matter of a CCTV video is coming to the fore. We have received information that this is the CCTV of the above incident. Right now more information is being collected in this regard. Information is being collected about the incident from all possible angles."

Bus driver Sushil, the first person to reach the site of Rishabh Pant's accident, said that the cricketer told him "I am Rishabh Pant". Pant was covered in blood and walking with a limp. 

Sushil also detailed how the accident happened and said that he was coming from the Haridwar side and Pant from Delhi. He then saw Pant's car colliding and applied brakes. The bus driver added that this was a freak accident.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah tweeted, "My thoughts and prayers are with Rishabh Pant as he fights his way back to recovery. I have spoken to his family and the doctors treating him. Rishabh is stable and undergoing scans. We are closely monitoring his progress and will provide him with all the necessary support."

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted, "Wishing Rishabh Pant a speedy and complete recovery from his injuries after a horrific car accident. All of India wants to see you back at your best soon!"

BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla tweeted, "Deeply disturbed to know about accident and injury of cricketer Rishabh Pant. He is a promising cricketer and asset to the team. I pray for his quick recovery. He should be back to the pitch very soon."
