12.38 PM: ANDHRA GOVT INCREASES LIQUOR PRICES BY 75%
After Delhi, the Andhra Pradesh government has hiked liquor prices by 50 per cent, taking the total overall liquor price hike to 75 per cent. The revised rates will come into effect from today afternoon. "The price hike has been imposed to discourage alcohol consumption," says Andra Chief Minister's Office.

The Delhi government has increased VAT on petrol from 27 per cent to 30 per cent and on diesel from 16.75 per cent to 30 per cent. Price of petrol increased by Rs 1.67 and diesel by Rs 7.10.
