WhatsApp recently rolled out its payment services across India. This means you will now be able to transfer money from your WhatsApp using UPI (Unified Payments Interface). The newly launched payment service has been designed in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).In order to send money to your friends or family, you need to have a bank account and a debit card.

No one is going to help you with the setup
This is the foremost and most important thing to keep in mind. WhatsApp is never going to help you with setting up WhatsApp pay. It won't ask you for any payment-related details, bank account, or any other information.
If you want to use WhatsApp pay, you will have to set it up on your own; also, it is an easy process, thus, never believe anyone who calls or messages you claiming to help you with setting up the payments feature on your smartphone. No official customer care number of WhatsApp
As of date, there is no official customer care number that can help you with setting up WhatsApp Payments.
If you come across any customer care number of WhatsApp, do not believe it.In case of any trouble regarding the payment, contact your bank directly. Be careful about Payment requestIf you approve a payment request, it means the transaction is done and your money has been deducted instantly from your bank account, the moment you tap on the 'Tap' icon. The money will be deducted from your bank account immediately. So be careful before accepting a payment request.
Never share OTPs or UPI pinNever share OTPs or UPI pins over WhatsApp as it may lead to financial fraud. Thus, never share these details with anyone.
Accept payment requests from known people
WhatsApp recommends accepting Payment requests from people you know or those added to your contact list. Never accept requests from people or phone numbers you aren't familiar with.
VerifyIt is always advisable to check and verify if the transaction has been made. Once confirmed, you will know if your money has been transferred to the right person.
