Around the worldThe report, Global Flight Pricing, analysed over 1.5 million economy-class prices from 200 airlines, finding the best value airlines for travellers. The study compared the economy-class airfares during the first two months in 2018. A whopping 24 of this year's top 30 cheapest international airlines are based in Asia or the Middle East.The countries with the cheapest average prices by distance, according to the study, were Chile, Indonesia, Turkey, India, Bulgaria, Thailand, and South Africa.

Indian carriers ruleAir India Express is the second cheapest airlines in the list. Three other Indian carriers, IndiGo (rank 5), Jet Airways (rank 12) and Air India (rank 13) that featured high on the list, had offered airfares that cost Rs 6.7 per kilometre (or USD 0.10/km) on the international routes.

AirAsiaXThe Malaysia-based carrier, which is a sister company of AirAsia, offers the cheapest air travel services among the top 200 airlines in the world, according to the global flight pricing report released by Rome2rio. As of 2017, it had  a fleet of 30 Airbus A330-300 aircrafts. AirAsiaX flew passengers for as little as Rs 4.7/km (USD 0.07/km).

Air India ExpressAir India Express, which is the wholly-owned subsidiary of state-run carrier Air India, is the second cheapest airline in the list of global airlines. Air India Express mostly offers flights to the Gulf nations and Singapore. It offered airfare at an average of Rs 5.4 per kilometre (USD 0.08/km).
