Xiaomi is out with its latest flagship offering for thisyear. The company has launched the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus, both featurethe latest chipset from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 821.
The new phones have incremental updates in comparison to theMi5 that was launched earlier this year. The major changes would include a newdesign language, that ditches last year's metal and glass build, a dual-camerasetup and a 3D-touch screen on the Plusvariant, similar to Apple's iPhone 7 and the older iPhone 6s.
The new phones are all-metal and have opted for a morerounded look in comparison to the previous flagship, Mi5.
The Mi 5s comes with a 5.15 inch FullHD IPS display which iswill be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. The device will come in twovariants, one with 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM and the other with 4GB RAM and 128GBROM.
On the camera front, the device features a 12 Megapixelprimary camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The front facing camera houses a4Megapixel wide lens camera.
The phone also features a new ultrasonic fingerprint sensorin the front panel. The device will derive its power from a 3,200 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s is priced at 1,999 yuan (Roughly Rs 19,900)whereas the higher variant is priced at 2,299 yuan (Roughly Rs 22,900).
The bigger Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus features a substantially bigger5.7 inch screen but still sports the same FullHD display, yielding a pixeldensity of 386ppi. Apart from the change in size, the device additionally features a dual-camerasetup with two 12Megapixel camera modules.
The bigger phone is able to cram-in a 3,800 mAh battery withQuickCharge 3.0 technology. The bigger Mi 5s Plus also sports an additional 3D-touchfeature unlike the smaller variant. Unlike the Mi 5s, the fingerprint sensor isplaced in the rear panel, under the camera.
The phone comes in two variants, one with 4GB RAM and 64GBinternal storage and the other with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The 4GBvariant is priced at 2,299 yuan (roughlyRs 22,000) and the 6GB variant is priced at 2,599 yuan (roughly Rs 25,000).
