Carmakers in India have recently released their sales figures for the month of March. FADA claims passenger vehicle retail sales increased by 14 per cent YoY in March, thanks to the enhanced supply of electronic components
The domestic passenger vehicle registrations jumped to 3,35,266 units in March, up from 2,93,016 units in March 2022
Two-wheeler retail sales increased to 14,45,867 in March, up 12 per cent from 12,86,109 units in the year-ago period, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said in a statement
The commercial vehicle registrations in March rose to 92,790 units, up 10 per cent from 84,124 units in the same month last year
Three-wheeler retail sales rose 69 per cent year-on-year to 86,857 units in March
Tractor registrations last month rose to 81,607 units, up 4 per cent from 78,070 units in March 2022
Total registrations in March increased to 20,41,847 units, up 14 per cent from 17,92,802 units in the year-ago period
Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,37,201 units in March 2023, which was marginally up from 1,18,446 units in 2022.
Tata Motors sold 46,847 units in March. Hyundai Motor sold 45,703 in March. This was followed by Mahindra & Mahindra with 32,196 units, and Kia Motors with 21,023 units.
