The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has finally entered the premium MPV segment with the new Invicto, which is a rebadge version of Toyota Innova Hycross. This will be the fourth vehicle under the Maruti-Toyota brand partnership after Baleno-Glanza, Brezza-Urban Cruiser and Grand Vitara-Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Invicto is set to be the most expensive offering from Maruti Suzuki as the other three row seating cars from the brand have been in the entry-level MPV segment.
The basic design of Maruti Invicto is similar to that of the Innova Hycross with a slight difference in headlights. The new MPV also gets a slightly different grille with two thick, horizontal chrome slats that extend into the headlamps. The headlights also feature Nexa’s three-block signature daytime running lamps.
Another major change in Invicto is design of the 17-inch alloy wheels and the back light, which also feature Nexa’s three-block design. Apart from this and the badge of Maruti Suzuki, the two MPVs share a similar look.
Maruti Invicto is the most feature-rich car by Maruti as it gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 50 Suzuki Connect features.
Maruti has equipped its new MPV with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, roof ambient lighting, powered tailgate, dual zone climate control and 360-degree camera.
Maruti Suzuki has focused a lot on safety as its new car Invicto gets six airbags, hill hold assist, vehicle stability control and anti-lock braking system among others.
Maruti Invicto gets the latest 2.0-litre petrol engine with strong hybrid system which gives an output of 184 bhp. The car is offered only with CVT automatic transmission. Maruti will offer two variants of Invicto: Zeta+ and Alpha+. As for the mileage, the company claims a fuel efficiency of 23.24 kmpl.
The ex-showroom prices of all the variants of Maruti Suzuki Invicto are: Zeta+ 7-seater: Rs 24.79 lakh Zeta+ 8-seater: Rs 24.84 lakh Alpha+ 7-seater: Rs 28.42 lakh
The main rival of Maruti Suzuki Invicto will be Toyota Innova Hycross. Other rivals for Maruti Invicto could include Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV 700.
