Maruti revealed its new 5-door SUV Jimny during the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year. The company made the car while keeping off-roading in mind.
Maruti Jimny has been fitted with the 1.5L K-series petrol engine, which comes with two transmissions - 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic unit.
The company has claimed that Maruti Jimny gives 16.94 kmpl for the manual transmission and 16.39 kmpl for the automatic transmission. Both the figures are ARAI tested.
Maruti has made their new product with ample body angles, which makes it perfect for off-roading. Jimny has an approach angle of 36-degrees, departure angle of 45-degrees and a ramp-over angle of 24-degrees. Ground clearance of the car is 210mm.
Maruti Jimny is built on a 3-link rigid axle suspension with ladder frame chassis and equipped with the automaker’s ALLGRIP PRO 4WD drivetrain. The ALLGRIP PRO (4WD) has a low range transfer gear (4L mode), which gives the car extreme off-road ability. It also enables seamless shifting from 2H two-wheel drive to 4H four-wheel drive on-the-fly.
Maruti has focused a lot on their customers’ safety while making the new Jimny. Maruti Jimny is equipped with 6-airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist function, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control and much more.
The company has gone all-out for the all-new SUV Maruti Jimny with their 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system. It also offers wireless connection with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Maruti is also offering two special accessory packs for their adventurous customers – Summit Seeker Pack and the Adventure Lifestyle Pack. In the Summit Seeker pack the company offers - front skid plates, fender garnish, illuminated door sill guards, interior styling kit, and more, adding a touch of boldness to your Jimny.
The Adventure Lifestyle Pack comes with expedition tents, weather-resistant sleeping bags, portable chairs, multipurpose knife and umbrellas to align with Maruti Jimny’s adventurous spirit.
