Chinese automaker, MG India launched the new Advanced BLACKSTORM edition for its premium SUV Gloster on Monday. The latest exclusive special edition comes in an elegant and deep black colour with bold sporty elements and striking red accents on its body.
The dark and sporty theme is enhanced by the 2WD & 4WD, New Gloster, and Internet Inside emblems which are highlighted in Metal Black and Metal Ash colours. Other elegant features of MG Gloster BLACKSTORM include the roof rail, smoked black tail lights, window surround, fender, and fog garnish, resulting in an overall commanding presence for the SUV.
The interior of the new BLACKSTORM edition is also black-themed complemented by red accents on the steering wheel, headlamps, callipers, and front and rear bumper. The black leather seats with a red stitching gives a sporty look to the interior also.
The new edition of the SUV comes with the next-generation ‘On Demand’ or ‘Real Time Intelligent 4 Wheel Drive’ train, which is equipped with the state-of-the-art electronic shift-on-the-fly technology called the ‘BorgWarner transfer case’. The new system provides excellent torque control making the SUV a success on all terrains.
MG has also equipped its premium SUV with a Level-1 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) along with 30 other safety features. Some of the other key features include - Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Automatic Parking Assist , Forward Collision Warning and Blind Spot Detection.
MG Gloster BLACKSTORM is also equipped with the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Change Assist systems. The car also has some advanced safety features like - Door Open Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Driver Fatigue Reminder System.
The new edition of the premium SUV also has a dual panoramic electric sunroof, a 12-way power-adjustable driver seat along with driver seat massage and ventilation features. The new SUV has seven driving modes based on the terrain - Normal, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, and Rock.
MG has retained its powerful 2.0-litre diesel engine but it will be available in two versions - single turbo version with 161 BHP and 375 Nm torque and a twin-turbo unit that puts out 215 BHP and 480 Nm torque. Only the twin-turbo option comes with 4Wd drivetrain. In terms of transmission, 8-speed automatic is the basic option paired with both engines.
MG Gloster BLACKSTORM has two drivetrain options - 2WD and 4WD. It also has two seating options - six-seater and seven-seater. So, the car has four variants, but the prices only differ on the basis of drivetrains, i.e., 2WD or 4WD. 2WD – Rs 40.29 lakh 4WD – Rs 43.07 lakh
