Ola Electric, at its ‘End the internal combustion engine (ICE) age’ event on Independence Day, revealed 4 bike models' concepts: Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster, Cruiser. However, it was Diamondhead concept that drew most of the attention
Presenting an unconventional design, the Diamondhead concept stands out with a visual language often associated with futuristic concept motorcycles. Diamondhead’s design conjures thoughts of boldness and innovation, much like the bikes from the iconic Hollywood movie ‘Tron Legacy’
Embodying a fusion of innovation and functionality, Diamondhead showcases a prominent dome-like windscreen. A concealed digital display, elegantly concealed beneath a retracting plastic cover, adds an element of surprise and sophistication to Diamondhead's experience
An aspect that truly sets Diamondhead apart is the substantial swingarm at the front, a feature that hints at the use of a hub-centred steering system—a departure from the conventional fork setup commonly seen in motorcycles. This intricate arrangement, found in only a handful of motorcycles in production, showcases Ola's commitment to pushing boundaries
Distinguishing itself from its counterparts, the Diamondhead opts for a belt drive system, deviating from the traditional chain drive. The presence of two sizeable front disc brakes further accentuates its performance-focused orientation, promising an exhilarating ride for enthusiasts
CEO Bhavish Agarwal said on Tuesday: “This will truly define the future of motorcycling. It will be a generationally defining product and even 10 to 20 years from now, the whole world will remember this product as it will bring in an EV revolution in motorbiking. It will define what super sports motorcycling is across the world.”
Ola Electric didn’t convey any specific release dates for the concept bikes. However, one of the presentation slides mentioned the availability in end of 2024
The company also released two new scooter models. Ola Electric introduced advance technological enhancements to the existing Ola S1 Pro model. Additionally, they've unveiled an entirely new series known as the Ola S1 X, strategically positioned at a more budget-friendly price range when compared to the Ola S1 Pro variant starting at Rs 89,999
A new operating system ‘MoveOS’ was also introduced at the event. Ola Electric claimed that this is the biggest and the most advanced software update till date
