Skoda launches a new Kushaq Onyx Edition SUV for Rs 12.39 lakh. The SUV is priced at a premium of Rs 80,000 compared to the base Active trim
The Onyx Edition sits between the Active and the mid-spec Ambition Classic trims and is only available with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol powertrain
The Onyx Edition gets additional features over the Active trim, including LED headlights, fog lamps, a rear wiper with a washer, a rear defogger, and automatic climate control with an air purifier
The exterior of the Onyx Edition has stylised grey graphics on the doors, 'Onyx' badging on the B-Pillar, and a faux diffuser on the front bumper
The Onyx Edition also has chrome surrounds on the front grille and 16-inch steel wheels with newly designed plastic covers.
The interior has Onyx badging on the scuff plates and headrests, a black and grey interior colour theme, a two-spoke steering wheel, chrome surrounds on the AC vents, and a textured pattern on the dashboard
The Onyx Edition comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, 6-speaker audio system, and height adjustable driver’s seat.
Safety features include dual front airbags, ESP, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and ISOFIX anchorages.
The Kushaq Onyx Edition is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and is only available with a manual transmission, with an automatic transmission likely to come later
The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition competes directly with SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and its own sibling Volkswagen Taigun
