TVS has launched its newest electric scooter TVS X. It is the first e-scooter in India to get ABS and claims to have a top speed of 105kph.
TVS claims that the scooter has a class-leading low aerodynamic coefficient. The front gets an LED headlight including daytime running lights and sequential side indicators. The scooter also gets lever guards adding to the sporty appeal. At the rear, it gets a single-side rear swingarm.
TVS X comes packed with features like navigation and mobile connectivity integrated into the 10.2-inch digital HD+ display that can be set accordingly. TVS has added support for surfing the browser, playing videos, games, and music and includes a wellness app that plays soothing music when you are on the ride. You can personalise the homepage by choosing widgets, wallpapers and special audio and video when you turn on the scooter.
TVS X safety features include speed limit alerts, overspeeding alerts, DND, crash and fall alerts. When the e-scooter is stopped, you get features like Geo-fencing, tow and theft alerts and location sharing as well. In addition to this, it also gets single-channel ABS, hill-hold feature and cruise control.
TVS X is built on the new Xleton platform and the frame is of high-strength aluminium alloy. TVS says that they have worked extensively on the chassis, claiming that the frame is 2.5 times as stiff as typical two-wheelers, giving it a very high stiffness-to-weight ratio. The suspension has telescopic forks at the front and an offset monoshock at the rear.
TVS on August 23, announced the launch of the new electric scooter TVS X at an introductory price of Rs 2.50 lakh. Bookings for the TVS X electric scooter will start on August 24 at midnight.
Ather 450X has a range of up to 165 km/charge as compared to TVS X’s range of 140km on a single full charge. Ather offers the 450X in 6 colours whereas TVS X comes only in the colour red. Ather's 450 X costs INR 1,37,950, whereas TVS X’s price starts from 2.50 lakh.
Ola Electric launched its next-generation electric scooter, S1 Pro, starting at Rs 1,47,499. It is available in one variant with ten colour options. Here again, TVS X starting price is around Rs 1 lakh more compared to Ola’s e-scooter.
TVS X's official teaser on Instagram showed a smartwatch too which can be an add on with the first 2,000 units of the TVS X, which will be offered with the “First Edition” insignia. To enhance customer experience, TVS is also including a Concierge service and the Garmin Smartwatch, designed to complement the TVS X. This exclusive offer comes at an additional Rs 18,000. Deliveries will begin in November 2023.
