The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) is set to introduce Amul fresh milk in the United States for the first time, expanding its reach beyond India.
GCMMF has collaborated with the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA), a 108-year-old cooperative organization, to facilitate the launch of fresh milk in the US market.
Four variants of Amul fresh milk, namely Amul Taaza, Amul Gold, Amul Shakti, and Amul Slim n Trim, will be available to consumers within a week of the launch.
The distribution of fresh milk will initially cover key areas such as New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Washington, Dallas, and Texas, targeting non-resident Indians (NRIs) and the Asian population.
GCMMF will focus on branding and marketing efforts in the US market for the next 3-4 months to attract customers and generate a positive response.
In addition to fresh milk, GCMMF plans to introduce other dairy products like paneer, curd, and buttermilk in the near future, further diversifying its product portfolio.
The initiative comes amidst GCMMF's robust financial performance, with a turnover of approximately Rs 55,000 crore during the 2022-23 fiscal year, reflecting an 18.5% increase from the previous year. Additionally, GCMMF is already engaged in exporting dairy products to around 50 countries worldwide.
