When Fevicol released its first TV ad in 1997 – ‘Dum laga ke haisha’... it was just the beginning!
Late Balvant Parekh left law school to join the Quit India Movement. He even cleared his bar exams but never practised law
Balvant even joined a wood trader’s office as a peon but he wanted to start his own business. The turning point came when Balvant joined a German firm in India called Fedco
In 1954, Parekh started manufacturing and trading dye and pigment emulsions and created Parekh Dyechem Industries with his brother
The firm was later renamed Pidilite Industries in 1959. There was just one factory that manufactured just one product- Fevicol
The company now owns many successful brands and products like Fevicol, M-Seal, Fevistick and Dr Fixit
The performance of the company's stock has been phenomenal over the years. Shares of Pidilite Industries have delivered over 1,200% return in the last 10 years!
Balvant Parekh was a believer in the power of advertising. The ads were funny, heartwarming and iconic!
From 'Dum laga ke haisha' to 'Fevicol ka mazboot jod hai Tootega nahi', we all grew up! And so did the company!
