The Supreme Court has set up a six-member committee to probe into the alleged findings by the Hindenburg Research regarding stock manipulation by Gautam Adani’s Adani Group

Head of Adani-Hindenburg probe committee, Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre has practised civil, constitutional and labour law in the Madhya Pradesh High Court for about 20 years. He had earlier served as the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court and as the first Chief Justice of Manipur High Court
Another prominent name in the SC Adani-Hindenburg probe panel is the ex-chairman of SBI, OP Bhatt. He is currently an independent director on the boards of multiple MNCs such as Tata Steel, HUL, Tata Motors. OP Bhatt is also the non-executive Chairman of Greenko Energy Holdings, Mauritius, and Aadhar Housing Finance Limited. Bhatt has earlier served as the Chairman of Indian Banks’ Association
Padma Bhushan awardee Indian banker KV Kamath started his career with Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India now known as ICICI Bank. Kamath went on to become the Chief of New Development Bank of BRICS countries, Chairman of Infosys and independent Director at Reliance Industries
KV Kamath has been associated with several other firms like Schlumberger and Lupin. He is now part of the Adani-Hindenburg probe panel
Padma Bhushan awardee Nandan Nilekani, the man behind India’s Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Aadhar Card will also be a key member in the SC’s Adani-Hindenburg committee. He is the co-founder and Chairman of Infosys Technologies Limited. He also headed government’s tech committee TAGUP
Nandan Nilekani has co-founded EkStep and he was appointed as the co-chair of ‘G20 Task Force on Digital Public Infrastructure for Economic Transformation, Financial Inclusion and Development’. He is also a part of the SC Adani probe panel
Justice JP Devadhar has been the counsel for the Union of India since 1982. He has practised with Bombay High Court and has worked on Cooperative Societies Act, Service Law, Rent Act, Customs Act, Excise Act and Direct Tax Laws such as Income Tax, Wealth Tax and Gift Tax
Somasekhar Sundaresan has also been roped in as part of the SC panel on Adani-Hindenburg probe. A 1996-batch graduate in law from Mumbai’s Government Law College, Sundaresan specialises in financial sector regulation, competition law, company matters, and exchange controls
He has been a member of committees set up by the Union government, SEBI and RBI. He faced some objections from the government over his elevation as a High Court Judge
Sebi is conducting an independent probe into the issue and has been asked to submit its findings about the Adani-Hindenburg case to the SC panel within two months
