Jio has added a new “5G upgrade” section in its MyJio app, which includes the already existing Rs 61 data voucher plan
The Reliance Jio customers who are on Rs 239 prepaid plan or above don’t need to buy an additional pack
The Rs 61 plan will remain active until your existing prepaid plan expires. This 5G data plan will work on those who have recharged with Rs 119, Rs 149, Rs 179, Rs 199 or Rs 209 prepaid plan
Your smartphone should be 5G compatible and should have received 5G support update from the manufacturer and mobile network setting should be set to 5G, after your device receives Jio’s 5G invite
Jio offers up to 1Gbps of speed as part of the Jio Welcome Offer, but it doesn't provide additional data for free to test the latest network
A Jio spokesperson said the company invested over Rs 40,000 crore for deploying the 5G network in Tamil Nadu and provided employment to almost 1 lakh people in Tamil Nadu, directly and indirectly
