A clutch of billionaires owns some of the most valued companies on the BT500 list this year. Here’s a look at the 10 richest promoters of India’s most valuable companies. With a total promoter holding of Rs 7.99 lakh crore, Mukesh Ambani has dethroned Gautam Adani on the BT Billionaires list this year. The combined holdings of the top 10 promoters on the BT500 list this year stood at over Rs 35 lakh crore as of November 10, 2023

Total value of Promoter Holding - Rs 7.79 Lakh Crore Reliance Industries operates in hydrocarbon exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail and telecommunications. He is also the promoter of Just Dial and Network 18— Both are part of this year’s BT500 list

Total value of Promoter Holding - Rs 5.43 Lakh Crore Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Electricals, and Bajaj Holdings are all part of the larger Bajaj Group, which is managed by various family members

BT500 list Rank 4 - Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder and Chairman, Bharti Enterprises

Total value of Promoter Holding - Rs 3.41 Lakh Crore Bharti Enterprises is a conglomerate that has businesses in multiple sectors, including manufacturing, telecommunications, agriculture, real estate, hospitality industry and food. The combined m-cap of Bharti Airtel and Indus Towers grew 13 per cent in the past year to Rs 6.11 lakh crore as of November 10, 2023

Total value of Promoter Holding - Rs 3.31 Lakh Crore The group operates in sectors such as textiles, telecommunications, cement and insurance. Companies such as Vodafone Idea, Hindalco Industries, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, Grasim Industries and Ultratech Cement are part of this group

Total value of Promoter Holding - Rs 2.07 Lakh Crore HCL Technologies is a multifaceted Information Technology Solutions company that specialises in software, BPO, and IT Infrastructure. Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Shiv Nadar’s daughter, is at the helm now.

Total value of Promoter Holding - Rs 1.85 Lakh Crore Avenue Supermarts is the parent company if the Dmart Supermarket Chain. Promoter Damani is also a well-known investor in the stock market.
