Many tech giants including Meta, Twitter, Microsoft and Amazon are undergoing hiring freeze and large job cuts  

Amazon is the latest to join the bandwagon by announcing a hiring freeze in the company. The e-commerce platform is
set to lay off employees in
order to cut costs of unprofitable business

Recently, Mark Zuckerberg-owned Meta fired 11,000 employees, which comprises around 13 per cent of its workforce

Ever since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, the social media platform has been undergoing immense changes including mass layoffs. Musk fired nearly 50% of the workforce.

However, dozens of employees were called back as they were either fired in error or were too essential for the company

Microsoft has also felt the heat of the economic downturn leading to the company firing 1,000 employees last month, in the third round of downsizing this year

Snapchat let go of 20 percent of its workforce, over 1,000 people in order to “ensure long-term success in any environment”

The streaming giant has also undergone two downsizing rounds, one in May and the other in June, letting go of at least 500 employees
