Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) removed the image of Lord Hanuman from Hindustan Lead in Fighter Trainer (HLFT)-42 which was on display at Aero India 2023 in Bengaluru
Asia’s largest air show Aero India 2023, saw the unveiling of fighter trainer HLFT-42 bearing an image of Lord Hanuman with a slogan “the storm is coming”
A HAL official reportedly said that the logo with Lord Hanuman was derived from now-defunct HAL aircraft named HF-24 Marut (meaning wind)
Though, a day later, HAL decided to remove the Lord Hanuman sticker from HLFT-42 which is a lightweight multirole fighter aircraft
HLFT-42, an air-to-air and air-to-ground trainer equipped with advanced avionics and weapon systems, will be used to train younger fighter pilots of Indian Air Force (IAF) and also those in the Indian Navy
HAL showcased the Hindustan Lead in Fighter Trainer (HLFT)-42 at the ongoing Aero India 2023 at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka, Bengaluru
