In Uttar Pradesh, the Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express, which comprises 8 carriages rather than 16, will be the first miniature semi-high speed train. In less than four hours, the train will travel 302 kilometres via Ayodhya junction. It is likely to be flagged off on July 7 by PM MOdi.

Today was the first day of the Vande Bharat Express' test run between Lucknow and Gorakhpur. "The trial run was good. We had prepared in advance, our officers worked hard ahead of today's trial run. It took us just 4.1 hours to reach Lucknow from Gorakhpur. There were no issues at all," Devendra Kumar Srivastava, the train's loco pilot, remarked during the trial run.
The fastest train on this route right now is Train No. 22411, the Arunachal Superfast Express, which travels from Gorakhpur to Lucknow via Gonda junction, takes 4 hours and 35 minutes. About 4 hours and 50 minutes pass between the 12557 Sapt Kranti Superfast Express and the 12555 Gorakhdham Superfast Express.
