The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has set a deadline of January 31, 2024 for all FASTag users to update their KYC details.
Even with sufficient account balance, FASTags lacking updated KYC details risk deactivation or blacklisting by banks after January 31, 2024, as per NHAI's directive.
FASTag, an electronic toll collection system, simplifies toll payments at highway plazas by linking to bank accounts or prepaid cards. Utilizing RFID technology, it deducts toll charges upon scanning the tag at toll booths.
Updating KYC for FASTag is a straightforward process. For online updates, users can log in to their bank-linked FASTag portals or visit the IHMCL FASTag portal. Offline options include bank branches or toll plazas providing KYC assistance.
Users can update KYC details online through their bank's FASTag portal, logging in with their registered mobile number, and submitting documents. Alternatively, the IHMCL FASTag portal allows for document upload under the "KYC" section.
FASTag users can visit their bank branches to submit KYC documents along with their FASTag tag or vehicle registration number. Some toll plazas also offer KYC assistance, allowing users to inquire about the process.
To complete FASTag KYC, users need essential documents, including Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), identity proof (PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving Licence), address proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Utility bill), and a passport-size photograph.
Users can check their FASTag status easily by visiting fastag.ihmcl.com, logging in with OTP and their registered mobile number, and selecting the "My Profile" section on the dashboard, displaying the KYC status of their FASTag.
