Asad and another accused Gulam, with a bounty of Rs 5 lakh each, were both killed in the encounter led by Deputy SP Navendu and Deputy SP Vimal
Asad and Ghulam's bodies have been transferred to a morgue and will be sent for a post-mortem

Umesh Pal was the key witness in the Raju Pal murder case. Atiq forced him to write a statement in his favour. Soon after, Atiq went missing and an abduction complaint was filed in 2016. Though, the person was later traced and sent back home. After many years, Atiq Ahmed was found guilty and was arrested
Since then there have been two murder attempts against Umesh Pal. He had requested an early settlement of the case in a High Court application. The Allahabad High Court had mandated that the case's hearing be completed by March 16, 2023, in two months
