As Diwali, the vibrant festival of lights, approaches, the markets are bustling with shoppers preparing for the joyous occasion. Dhanteras, which is celebrated today, starts the five-day extravaganza of the festive week. It is marked as an auspicious day for acquiring new metal items, particularly gold and silver.
Throughout the five-day celebration, various rituals and worships, centred around Goddess Lakshmi will unfold. The pinnacle of the festivities is the new moon day, Amavasya, dedicated to Lakshmi Puja, Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja, and Diwali Puja. Here's a breakdown of the five significant days of Diwali starting today.
According to Drik Panchang, Dhanteras puja muhurat commences at 5:47 pm and concludes at 7:43 pm today, lasting for 1 hour 56 minutes. Devotees worship Lord Kubera and Goddess Lakshmi on this day, making new purchases to invoke prosperity.

Govardhan Puja muhurat is from 06:43 am to 08:52 am on November 13. A day post-Diwali, it honours Lord Krishna, who saved the residents of Mathura by lifting the Govardhan mountain, showcasing the victory of righteousness.
The final day, Bhai Dooj or Bhau Beej, falls on November 14. Aparahna time spans from 01:10 pm to 03:19 pm. Celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, it occurs on the second day of the Shukla Paksha, aligning with the lunar calendar.
