As leaders of G20 nations of the world mark their presence in India’s capital city New Delhi for the G20 Summit 2023, stringent security protocols have been implemented. The New Delhi District has been designated a "Controlled Zone-I" from 5 am on September 8 until 11:59 pm on September 10. However, certain restrictions were enforced from Friday (September 8) itself.
Schools, colleges and all offices will remain closed from Friday. All commercial establishments in the New Delhi district will remain shut and this would include restaurants, malls, liquor shops and tourist places in the district.
All commercial activities will remain banned for 3 days in the NDMC area i.e., Pragati Maidan, Connaught Place, Cantonment, etc.

No cab or taxi services will be available in the New Delhi district from 5 am on Saturday. Only tourists with valid bookings in hotels will be allowed. Cars carrying bona fide residents also won't be stopped.
Online Delivery services like Zomato, Swiggy, Flipkart and Amazon will be completely shut down in the NDMC zone Though delivery of medicines has been exempted during this period.
Vehicles including goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses, and local city buses, won't be allowed to operate on Mathura Road (beyond Ashram Chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road, and inside Pragati Maidan Tunnel from midnight on September 7 until 11:59 pm on September 10.
Medical shops, grocery shops, milk booths, and vegetable/fruit shops will remain open in the NDMC area. ATMs will also remain functional.
Commercial vehicles and buses will be allowed to ply on Ring Road and the road network beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi will continue as usual.
The Supreme Court metro station on the Blue line of the Delhi Metro will remain shut, parking has been prohibited in some stations while some restrictions may come into place at certain metro stations, if instructed by security agencies. Other than these restrictions, all the other metro stations will provide service and the Delhi Metro has shifted to an early start time of 4 am for the three days.
