The G20 Summit under India's presidency began today, September 9, in New Delhi, India. Security across the national capital has been beefed up amid the presence of many world leaders including US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak, Canada President Justin Trudeau, among others

G20 Summit begins

The summit will continue till Sunday, September 10. The official conference programme is structured around the sessions - 'One Earth’, which started on September 9 morning, and 'One Family', scheduled for the afternoon, and finally 'One Future' that will start on Sunday, September 10 morning. President Droupadi Murmu will host a dinner on September 9. A visit to Rajghat amd Spouses programme is among the events on the sidelines of the Summit

9:30am to 10:30am: Leaders and heads of delegations arrived at the G20 Summit venue, Bharat Mandapam, followed by a welcome photograph with the Prime Minister at Tree of Life Foyer. Subsequently, leaders and heads of delegation assembled in Leaders' Lounge, Level 2 at Bharat Mandapam

- 10:30 am to 1:30 pm: The first session, called 'One Earth,' at the Summit Hall at Bharat Mandapam, followed by a working lunch.
- 13:30 am to 3:30 pm: Various bilateral meetings will be held.
- 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm: The second session, 'One Family,' will take place in the summit venue after which the leaders return to their hotels

Schedule

- 7 pm to 8 pm: Arrival of leaders and heads of delegation for dinner, beginning with a welcome photograph on arrival.
- 8 pm to 9 pm: During dinner, the leaders will engage in talks over their meal.
- 9 pm to 9:45 pm: Leaders and heads of delegation will assemble in the Leaders' Lounge at Bharat Mandapam to bring the day to a close.

G20 Summit Saturday Agenda

- 8:15 am to 9 am: Arrival of leaders and heads of delegations in their individual motorcades at Rajghat and a signing of the peace wall inside the Leaders' Lounge at Rajghat.
- 9 am to 9:20 am: World leaders will lay wreaths at Mahatma Gandhi's Samadhi followed by a live performance of Mahatma Gandhi's favourite devotional songs. Subsequently, leaders and heads of delegations will move to the Bharat Mandapam's Leaders' Lounge

G20 Summit Day 2 schedule

- 9:40 am to 10:15 am: Arrival of leaders and heads of delegation at Bharat Mandapam.
- 10:15 am -10:30 am: Tree planting ceremony at Bharat Mandapam's South Plaza.
- 10:30 am to 12:30 pm: The third session of the summit, called 'One Future', will take place at the venue followed by the adoption of the New Delhi Leaders' Declaration

PM Modi, in his inaugural address during Session-1 on 'One Earth' at 18th G20 Summit, said, "Today, as the president of G20, India calls upon the world together to transform the global trust deficit into one of trust and reliance. This is the time for all of us to move together. In this time, the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas' can be the torch bearer for us. Be it the divide between North and South, the distance between East and West, management of food, fuel and fertilisers, terrorism, cyber security, health, energy or water security, we will have to find a solid solution to this for future generations
