Talking about the need for the IT industry to evolve, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Cyient, said, “This industry has to re-morph itself, revitalize itself to address the new reality. A reality which is being driven by technology.” He added that as per their forecast, the $250 billion IT industry will continue to grow at a CAGR of 10%

Baba Kalyani, Chairman & MD, Bharat Forge, highlighted key areas of focus to power India’s manufacturing prowess. “India’s goal is to become a high-income country by 2047. To achieve the same, we need to focus on product manufacturing, especially in areas like semiconductors and medicines. In the past, in the 1980s, we missed the bus once and did not encourage local manufacturing of semiconductors, due to faulty government policies. But focusing on product manufacturing would be crucial to achieve our current goal,” said Kalyani

Jayen Mehta, MD, Amul, talked about how in the future the conversation about healthy, organic food will be even as Amul has already entered the space of organic food. "We are trying to connect the producers who want to produce organic items, democratize organics, make it available to consumers in a variety of forms at an affordable price so that India becomes a healthier nation,” Mehta told Business Today Editor Sourav Majumdar

Aabha Bakaya asked Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO, MD of Tata Power about India's role in helping to manage climate change. Dr Praveer Sinha said, "Our PM in COP26 mentioned that India will take a global position on clean energy, which I think was a very bold statement. There is a huge amount of work being done by both private and public sector not just in terms of solar or wind but also storage and pumped hydro energy"

Managing Director and Head of ESG for Asia Pacific, Deutsche Bank Group Kamran Khan said, "You don't need to look further than just the price of energy, how far it has come down. If you don't have renewable energy in India then the Indian goods will face some disadvantages"

Vineet Mittal of Avaada Group said in his opening remarks, "Affordable green energy is available on demand and the rest of the world is imposing regulations about concerns on the environment or carbon border adjustment mechanisms"

He further said, "Indian manufacturers are geared for the challenge as they can go completely green. We are not completely dependent on solar with solar wind and water batteries. We can send green electrons to the grid and it becomes a dispatchable power"

Deepak Sharma of Schneider India said, "It is a time of opportunities. I think we all have a role to play as we discuss how we do it the right way. We somehow have to solve the problem of increasing carbon footprints for the coming generation"
