Data on Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation will be released later today. "The diminishing trend in CPI inflation witnessed in August will continue in September with the CPI print declining to 5.8 percent. The prime driver of the declining retail inflation will be decline in vegetable inflation, particularly the sharp dip in tomato prices from above Rs 200 to around Rs 20 in September. However, the elevated prices of food grains, pulses and sugar will prevent a sharp dip in inflation,” said Dr. V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services, on retail inflation expectations

“Positive global cues helped domestic markets extend gains for a second straight session as moderating US bond yields improved the sentiment… Technically, after a long time the Nifty surpassed the 20-day SMA (Simple Moving Average) and it is also holding the bullish continuation formation on daily and intraday charts which is largely positive. For the bulls, 19,750-19,700 would act as crucial support zones while 19,850-19,900 could be key resistance areas for the traders. However, below 19,700, the uptrend would be vulnerable,” said Shrikant Chouhan, Head of Research (Retail), Kotak Securities Ltd
“From a technical perspective, Nifty shows a bullish trend, indicating it's a good idea to buy on dip. As for Bank Nifty, it underwent consolidation on the expiry day, finding support at 44,400 and facing resistance at 44,700. If it surpasses 44,700, it could rise further toward the 45,000 mark. Hopeful that the Israel-Hamas conflict won't escalate into a larger crisis affecting crude oil prices and excessive volatility,” said Shrey Jain, Founder and CEO of SAS Online
“The index experienced a consolidation phase on the day of expiry, with support evident at 44,400 and resistance at 44,700 levels. The overall undertone of the index remains bullish, suggesting that a "buy on dip" approach is appropriate. If the index manages to break above the 44,700 level, it is likely to see further upside potential toward the 45,000 mark," said Kunal Shah, Senior Technical & Derivative analyst at LKP Securities
“We believe bullish momentum will continue in the gold price, and traders should adopt a buy-on-dip strategy in gold. Comex gold has immediate support at $1,850 and resistance at $1,880. The MCX Gold December future has resistance at Rs. 58,025 and support at Rs. 57,400,” said Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst - Commodities, HDFC Securities
“From a technical perspective, we believe crude oil prices should consolidate in the upper range, and the trend will remain moderately positive until MCX crude oil trades above the 7040 level. A move above 7240 can open further upside to the 7300/7350 level. NYMEX WTI Crude Oil has resistance at $87.45 and support at $84.50,” said Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst - Commodities, HDFC Securities
