 A surprise attack by Gaza militants caused significant casualties in Israel. Israeli airstrikes followed swiftly, prompting a formal declaration of war. The death toll now exceeds 1,000, with over 700 Israelis and 400 Palestinians killed in the ongoing conflict.

Also known as 'Al-Aqsa Flood', Operation 'Al-Aqsa Storm' is a military operation led by was a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The attack involved firing thousands of rockets at occupied territories, including enemy positions, airports, and military positions. This attack followed claims that some Israeli settlers have desecrated Al-Aqsa mosque and are launching violent attacks against Palestinians.

- After World War I, Britain controlled Palestine with a Jewish minority and Arab majority. The international mandate to create a Jewish homeland leading to heightened tensions.

- In 1947, the UN's plan to divide Palestine into Jewish and Arab states failed due to Arab rejection.In 1948, as conflict persisted, Britain withdrew, and Israel was declared as an independent nation, sparking war with Palestinian extremist leaders. Some of the neighbouring Arab nations also joined the conflict.

- Apart from the attack on Al-Aqsa mosque, the militants also attacked the people at Supernova music festival in the desert in southern Israel to coincide with the Jewish festival of Sukkot.

- More than 260 bodies have been recovered from the site.
