The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), which tracks political parties, has released the list of the top ten richest candidates in Karnataka. As per the report, five of the top ten belong to Congress.

The names of BJP's two candidates have figured in the top ten richest list. N Nagaraju, who is contesting from Hoskote, has assets worth over Rs 1,609 cr. HK Suresh, BJP's candidate from Belur, has assets worth over Rs 435 cr.

The JDS has two candidates in the top ten richest list. Its candidate from Bommanhalli, K Narayan Raju, has assets worth over Rs 416 cr. Anil H Lad, JDS candidate from Bellary City, has assets worth over Rs 380 cr.

Yousuf Shariff, an independent candidate from Bangalore Urban's Chickpet constituency, is the richest candidate in Karnataka. He has declared assets of over Rs 1,633 crore.

Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivkumar is the third richest in the southern state. He has assets worth over Rs 1,413 crore. His wealth increased 68 per cent in the last five years.

The top ten richest candidares are: Yousuf Shariff (Rs 1,633 cr), N Nagaraju (Rs 1,609 cr) D K Shivakumar (Rs 1,413 cr), Priyakrishna (Rs 1,156 cr), Suresha B S (Rs 648 cr).

Other candidates are: NA Haris (Rs 439 cr), H K Suresh (Rs 435 cr), K Narayan Raju (Rs 416 cr), Anil H Lad (Rs 380 cr), and Deshpande Raghunath (Rs 363 cr).

The ADR has also released the names of the ten poorest candidates in Karnataka. Gurusiddappa Basalingappa Toggi, an independent candidate from Ramdurg, is the poorest with assets worth Rs 500.

The ADR said that out of the 2,586 candidates analysed, 1,087 (42%) are crorepatis. In the 2018 assembly elections, out of 2,560 candidates, 883 (35%) were crorepatis. BJP's 216 of 224 candidates are crorepatis.
