Ram Mandir's pran pratishtha ceremony is all set to take place on January 22. While the preparations are in full swing, here is all you need to know about Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das and chief architect Chandrakant Sompura, who have played a key role in realising the dream of many people to have a spectacular Ram Lalla mandir.
Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was on his course to study Commerce. However, he had a change of mind and quit studies and left for Ayodhya. In Ayodhya, he became a disciple of Mahant Ram Manohar Das and graduated with a Shastri (degree) from Sanskrit University in Varanasi.
Mahant Nritya Gopal Das became the mahant (head) of the Shri Mani Ram Das Chavni at the age of 27 succeeding the sixth mahant of the Shri Mani Ram Das Chavani.
Nritya Gopal Das is credited with the construction of many temples including Ramayan Bhavan and Shri Char Dham temple. He runs the Mani Ram Das Chavani, where 500 sadhus stay. He has been actively associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement since 1984. He took over as the head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas when Ramchandra Das Paramhansa died in 2006. Currently, he is also the head of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
Acharya Satyendra Das is the Chief Priest of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. In an interview with India Today, he recalled the time when he served Ram Lalla when there were no proper temple premises. This was when the Ram Mandir vs Babri Masjid case was being contested in the Supreme Court.
