Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the new Parliament building in Delhi's Central Vista. The Parliament's inaugural ceremony began with havan, followed by multi-faith prayers. It took almost three years to build the new Parliament after PM Modi had laid the foundation stone on December 10, 2020.

PM Modi arrived at the premises of the new parliament at 7:15 am. The Parliament inaugural ceremony began at 7:30 with a havan followed by prayers from various religions.

Adheenam or seers handed over the Sengol to PM Narendra Modi. History states that it was first accepted by first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, in 1947.  PM Modi, on Sunday established the Sengol right next to the seat of Lok Sabha speaker.

At around 12:00 pm, PM Modi arrived at the New Parliament along with Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla. After the National Anthem, Deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, delivered the messages by President Droupadi Murmu and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar

PM Modi unveiled a commemorative stamp and a Rs 75 coin. The coin features the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar, an inscription of 'Satyamev Jayate', an image of the Parliament complex and 'Sansad Sankul' written in Devanagari script
