A special five-day session of Parliament is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 18. This session has generated considerable anticipation regarding whether the government has any unexpected announcements to make while discussing Parliament's 75-year history and transitioning to the new building

During an all-party meeting held on Sunday, floor leaders were reportedly briefed that the agenda now includes a bill concerning senior citizens' welfare and three bills related to the SC/ST order

The Repealing and Amending Bill, 2022, introduced in the Lok Sabha on December 19, 2022, aims to eliminate 65 outdated or redundant laws, alongside rectifying a minor drafting error in the Factoring Regulation Act, 2011. The Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2023, introduced in the Rajya Sabha on August 1, 2023, amends the Advocates Act, 1961, and removes sections related to touts from the Legal Practitioners Act, 1879. The Bill allows certain authorities to create lists of touts, defines touts, and empowers them to exclude such individuals from court premises. These authorities can also order inquiries into suspected touts' conduct. Those proven to be touts face imprisonment for up to three months, a fine of up to Rs 500, or both

The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2023, presented in Lok Sabha on July 26, 2023, modifies the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order, 1956. This order specifies the Scheduled Castes in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Specifically, the Bill includes the Valmiki community as a synonym for the Chura, Balmiki, Bhangi, and Mehtar communities. This synonym applies exclusively within the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir
