Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday flagged off the “Garvi Gujarat Yatra” train that showcases the heritage of Gujarat. The train was flagged-off from Delhi’s Safdarjung station
The train will undertake a eight-day tour and passengers can board and deboard the train from Rewari, Gurugram, Ringas, Phulera and Ajmer stations
The Indian Railways introduced the Garvi Gujarat tourist train to showcase the heritage of Gujarat under the "Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat" scheme of the government
The Bharat Gaurav train consists of four first AC coaches, two second AC coaches, two rail restaurants and one pantry car. It can accommodate 156 tourists
The tour will include visits to prominent Gujarat pilgrimage and heritage sites such as the Statue of Unity, Champaner, Somnath, Dwarka, Nageshwar, Beyt Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Modhera and Patan
The tour on the Garvi Gujarat tourist train will cost Rs 52,250-77,400 per person. The ticket price includes night stay at AC hotels in Kevadia and Ahmedabad
The Garvi Gujarat tourist train will cover a distance of almost 3,500 kms during the course of 8 days
The state-of-the-art train is loaded with several facilities like electronic lockers, in-house mini library, CCTV cameras and more
