A Swiss watch manufacturer, in collaboration with Indian retailer Ethos, has launched a limited edition Ram Janambhoomi watch priced at Rs 34 lakh ($41,000).
The watch, created with Jacob & Co, is based on the Epic X Skeleton series and aims to honor India's cultural heritage.
The timepiece features the Ram Temple at 9 o'clock and the phrase "Jai Shree Ram" at 6 o'clock, with Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman depicted prominently.
The watch's saffron bracelet and color scheme symbolize spirituality, purity, and prayer, resonating with the values of Hindutva.
Only 49 of these exclusive watches have been manufactured, with 35 already sold.
The watch commemorates the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony held earlier this year in Ayodhya, a significant event for Hindus.
After a landmark 2019 Supreme Court decision, the temple's foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2020, with the consecration ceremony held nearly four years later.
The Ram Temple, built in the traditional Nagara style, will be 380 feet long, 250 feet wide, and 161 feet high, featuring 392 pillars and 44 gates.
An international airport named after Maharishi Valmiki, who authored the "Ramayana," was opened in Ayodhya ahead of the temple's consecration ceremony.
